Swelling in the epididymis associated with pain and hydrocele (fluid collection around the testes) can be indicative of epididymitis.
This can occur following infection with STDs or with an ascending UTI.
Epididymitis can also occur due to noninfective causes. These include irritation to the epididymis caused by reflux of semen during ejaculation.
You will need to consult your GP or urologist for a physical examination and prescription of antibiotics.
Increasing fluid intake to over 2000 ml, addition of citrus fruits in diet, avoidance of alcohol and caffeine can all aid faster recovery.
Do keep us posted on any doubts and your progress.
