very concerned, seeking advice

Just like to say i appreciate all of your help

i have a situation here that im concerned about:

about 2 weeks ago i noticed a red patch of skin on the head of my penis, and the skin actually peeled and i peeled it off.  since then it has been itching like crazy, so i went to the store and picked up some jock itch cream and applied it to the area.  the itching has gone away, but now im starting to notice more redness on my penis, and more skin peeling off.  again, i applied to jock itch cream to the area.

it doesnt itch really anymore, however the area is still red and skin will peel off from time to time.  about a few days ago i noticed a dot of red skin on the shaft of my penis.  when i touch it, it feels like dry skin, but the fact that it has been present for two weeks is bothering me.  i am going to make a doctors appointment, but i was just wonder what you all think it is, cause obviously its bothering the hell out of me.

i havent had sex for two months, and i was the only guy the girl had been with.  i talk to her and she doesnt appear to be getting any symptoms like me, so im very confused.
comments are greatly appreciated.
thank you all very much.

fungal infections need treated with antifungals 2x/day for a full 10 days after the rash has disappeared. It doesn't sound like you've properly treated this if it is fungus have you?  This does sound more like yeast than herpes.
