S/P C6-7 Anterior Fusion Woes

by Smadak, Jul 20, 2008 09:11AM
I am about 10 weeks post C6-7 anterior fusion with allograft.  An accident over 5 years ago brought me to this and I waited too long.  Surgery was perfect, out of the hospital in 23 hours, out of work now for 10 weeks.  At the 6 week visit - the allograft hadn't taken yet so I am out again 6 weeks.  The good:  better left arm feeling and movement, same right arm and thumb issues (numbness and weakness) ... Here's the problem - I haven't done anything - I still have the same pain in the neck I always had only a bit sharper, I have headaches all the time (daily) now, I even still have an issue with swallowing still.  I started physical therapy but they are afraid to do anything.  I have another appointment soon to check the allograft.  I'm getting frustrated.  ALSO... apparently, my cervical curve is no longer a curve and it is straight... does this have any implications for my future?
