stye in my eye, worried!

by tfernandez, Jul 20, 2008 04:52PM
Okay this is not really related to my pregnancy, but i am really worried about the stye on my eye and if it will in any way affect my baby. Im scared to have any sickness or stress and this is really hurting  right now and I don't know what to do. Its not big yet, its pretty much just a little swollen not a bump or anything yet but pretty darn painful already. I searched the internet for answers and they all say its treatable at home and to go to the doctors if it persists or gets like really bad. It also said theyre super common but I still dont know how to just make it go away already what do i do?!?!?!

By they way I've only had it for about 3 hours now. when i woke up this morning i was perfectly fine. its getting so painful to look at stuff, move my eye, and especially to blink please help!!!

Don't worry! A stye is just and inflamed oil gland which is caused by excess oil, debree or bacteria and is also brought on by increased stress. I used to get them a lot when I was a kid cause I had terrible allergies and would rub my eyes raw. Don't rub or touch it and throw out any eye makeup you were using cause they contain that bacteria and its also best to stay away from any eyemakeup until it is gone if at all possible. To get rid of it faster, gently press a very warm washcloth against eyelid for 10 min. atleast 4 times a day...good luck and I wish you the best!

Thanks for that! I did do the heated damp cloth thing and it made the pain subside so much. It was really helpful. I woke up this morning though and the its a little more swollen, but still not an actual bump, its more a general swelling of the lower eyelid. My hubby thinks itsn irritated or an allergy no biggie. haha I worry so much. So glad the pain is gone though.

Good, glad its feelin better. Just keep doin the very warm damp cloth thing. It helps release that bacteria clogged in the pore or folicle...and it feels good! Oh and yeah that's just men...everything is no biggie to them...haha
