Sudden facial rash

by Valerie2811, Jul 20, 2008 09:20PM
I have just returned from a holiday in Bali (Something I do every July). On my second last day in Bali I developed some red bumps (they are lumpy like pimples but don't appear to have any sort of 'head' on them - slightly painful if touched and not itchy). They began on one side of my face on my cheabone and side of my face next to my eye and also along my jawline and just above. Initially, I thought that perhaps they were some kind of blocked pores and so I applied a clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide cream to my face the next day and remained inside out of the sun and heat. At the end of the day when I washed the cream off, they were bumpier and there were more of them. They also began to develop on the other side of my face.

I do have sensitive skin but I control it very well sticking to simple products. I have the clindamycin/benzoyl cream as an 'emergency' in case I ever get a pimple or two. I have also been on the pill which has kept my skin clear for the last 4 years. My skin was fine for the whole time in Bali. I got sunburnt once and stuck to a sunscreen I have never had any problems with. I did get a heat rash on my chest and upper arms at one stage, which disappeare with some cortisone cream.

Now I am back home I'm not sure what to do. It has been 3 ays since it begun and at first it worsened but today it is no different to yesterday...and hasn't really gotten any better. Though this is my first day back in winter weather. Should Ijust put nothing on it for a couple of days? Or do I need a cream to either unclog my pores (though it doesn't seem like this) or clear up the rash..I just want these red bumps to go and have no idea what to do. My skin is also pretty dry.

Any advie appreciated.
