Closed comedo acne

by con390, Jul 20, 2008 09:58PM
Hi i have recently come up with closed comedo acne
I read that a facial would make them go away does anyone know what type of facial i would need and possibly where i could get one in the UK?
any other comments on products or things that work at clearing these whiteheads would be greatly appreciated as my skin is causing me great distress.

thank you

Hi,
I have never heard of "comedo"  what is it?
As for a facial, I am in the US so I have no idea where you could go.  But, if money is an issue, I'm sure they have school's of beauty there, try that.  Other wise go to a salon.   Most hair salons will have a skin care professional on staff.  If not they may be able to refer you.  You might want to try a dermatology office.
I have been using "PROACTIV" sincce the first of the year and am doing well with it.
I am going to try "MURAD" next.  It is suppose to be better.  We shall see.
Best of luck!
God Bless,

Hi. A facial would probably not clear your acne, but there are lots of things that can. A topical retinoid gel called Differin is very effective, and oral antibiotics like oxytetracycline are also useful in clearing acne. Taking an anti-androgen birth control pill called Dianette helps many girls as acne is caused by hormones. It doesn't matter that you are too young to be sexually active. Discuss these options with your doctor.  You will not have to pay for any of these medicines as you live in the UK and are under 16. Eloise x
