help with disability

by james59, Jul 21, 2008 01:55PM
I am 59 years old,, about a year ago I went to a rheumotolgist, who sent me to a neurosurgeon, reason a lot of pain all over, from the top of my body to my feet, I had quit work and applied for disability and had to prove my problems, they found an 8mm chiari 1, which was barely mentioned, I have since researched and can't believe all the symptoms I told my lawyer about are symptoms of chiari 1. Due to quite a bit of arthritis, the neurosurgeon sent me to pain management. My question is, I live in the ne Georgia mountains and I need to find a neurosurgeon that will help me that specializes in chiari, I am probably going to need the surgery, but am not ready. I have my MRI's, but my neurosurgeon has them on disc, I have been waiting so far 2 years, pain is getting worse, especially in neck and shoulders, I would consider pain management first, except I have verdigo so bad I am always nauseated and can't take any rx pain meds. Any help would ber greatly appreciated.
