small vessel disease and demylination

My sister has been told she has some sort of demylination. I know there are dozens of those diseases. Could small vessel disease cause signifigant demylination and could the combination be caused by uncontrolled diabetes?

Now they have to get together to set up my surgery date. I just want to get started on this long journey that's exactly what they called it. I'll do it and do it well and when all is done I will be cancer free for life I pray!
