Drop in progesterone - miscarriage?

by cannotwait312, Jul 21, 2008 05:06PM
Hi all, I just got some blood results. I am 5 weeks along and just had blood today progesterone dropped from 40 to 28. I am on progesterone shots.  My Hcg has risen nicely. in the 5700 range. I am concerned for the drop in prog. level.  The doc said it is fine since I am still in the normal range. I would have expected it to be "high" since I am on the shots.. but why the drop?? I go for a scan friday and repeat blood next monday. Should I be worried?

Another woman just asked a similar question in another thread.

Hers dropped from 19 to 13 and she is taking a progesterone suppository.  Granted, it's not as drastic as your drop, but her doctor said that progesterone can fluctuate throughout the day.  If your doctor also feels that you are fine, and is happy with your hCG increases, I don't think you should worry!

If you are still concerned, mention it to your doctor at your next appointment!  Good luck!!
