Is this ALS?

by Kathy599, Jul 21, 2008 05:44PM
Hi:  Several months ago I experienced sudden urinary frequency which went on for about a month.  My GP found a large amount of protein in the urine and referred me to a specialist.  During this time I noticed that I had lost some muscle mass in my chest area and around my thighs.  My legs would shake at times when I was walking and I was tripping sometimes during my daily walks.  I also had two falls in my shower.  I have also noticed that my feet do not fit in my shoes - they seem too big.  I am also experiencing a large amount of twitching on different parts of my body.  I know what loss of muscle mass is not good so I am really scared.  What do you make of these symptoms?  Should I be seeing a neurologist?  Thanks for your help.
