"Hot Feet"

Since late April I have experienced the feeling of hot feet, especially, but the hot feeling extends bilaterally up to my waist - like I was covered with an electric blanket. At the same time, my walking ability has been affected with ataxia - and I have no pain! I've had a full panel of lab tests run - am not diabetic and have no Vit. B12 deficiency, a full neurological evaluation including a nerve conduction test to my feet (abnormal, more so on my right leg), an MRI of my lumbar spine that showed a 5mm bulge on the posterior-lateral side of L2-3 (not in itself an explanation of my symptoms, according to my neurologist) and have been undergoing physical therapy - where the therapist found significant weakness of my right leg (my left leg also occasionally collapses at the knee and has caused me to fall a few times). My PMD had mentioned that the next thing he'd check would be possible circulatory causes and I see him this week. What tests do you think would be appropriate and/or what might be going on to cause these symptoms? I am 68 years old this week.
