My tubes were tied 12 years ago,because my mother said I would never find a man to be with forever she was wrong. I was married to my new husband May 17 2008 he has no children and would like to have one. They were tied burned and clip we want to have a reversal done but is it possiable I have heard many diffrent things. Also what age do they not do the surgery I am 38. Need some ansewrs. terri

Why would your mother say such a horrible thing? Did she have bad relationships? I think that is really sad that your mother told you that.
Yes, tubes can be restored IF there is not too much damage to them and there is enough tube to sew back together.
You say your tubes "were tied, burned, and clipped" Are you sure? All three? usually there is just one of those procedures used.
I know that clips usually cause the least damage and a reversal is most possible with clips.
Also, your age IS a factor, but I don't think you are TOO old.But if you are serious, you should get right to it as soon as possible because it IS harder to conceive the older you get. Google "tubal reversal" and you can read up on it, and also find someone in your area that does the surgery. Also, insurance doesn't pay for it.

Not sure why you would even listen to your mom, you didn't have to do all this for her.  
Anyways, i've known women who get them tied up and end up pregnant.  Good luck.

I agree - age plays a factor.  The best thing to do is consult a fertility specialist (reproductive endocrinologist).  He/she will give you your options & you can proceed from there.  Many women have tubal reversals and end up pregnant - good luck -

If your mother told you to get your tubes tied "because you'll never find a man", and you actually did it....then you have some issues to work out for a long, long time before I would ever recommend you having a child.

First of all - I agree with Peek.  To answer your question, I don't know about reversal but I have a friend who had her eggs removed and then she and her new husband had IVF done and have 2 healthy kids!

that sux do uhave kids why would u listen and tie your tubes without having a child well i hope all is well i know someone who reverse hers
