Herpes or razor bumps?

by confused574, Jul 21, 2008 06:35PM
About 8 weeks ago I shaved my pubes and like usual the very next day a bunch of scattered pink bumps popped up. I didn't think much of it since it usually goes away within a week. However, eight weeks later i still have these pink bumps. They don't hurt or itch or anything but every once in a while it looks like one will get infected and grows into a pimple slash boil. After a few days with antibiotic ointment it goes away. I've never had them last this long so I started thinking it may be herpes since about  six or seven weeks prior I had unprotected sex with a couple girls (vaginal and not at the same time). I'm starting to get a bit worried and the anxiety is starting to make me think I have symptoms that I probably don't have. Could it possible be herpes? thanks.

Its not herpes if its lasted this long.

You might have a staph or other bacterial infection that needs an antibiotic to clear up.  You should see your provider for this.
