HPV

by SeekingFacts, Jul 21, 2008 07:29PM
I was a virgin until my mid-30s.  Had a relatiohsip with a man who had other relationships and had sex ~ dozen times (no full ejaculation).  Prior to this recent relationship, I had only two other relationships within the past 10 years that had intimate contact but no intercourse (they both had sex before dating me).  I also worked at the facility that developed the HPV vaccine.  I was diagnosed with the high risk HPV types.  Previous pap (before sex) was normal along with all other paps previously.  Within one year of having sex, I am diagnosed with the virus (no sign of infection)  I am seeking the history (along with waiting for the biopsy results).  None of the men had any signs (warts).  I also have no visible signs.

Is it possible to have contracted HPV from the sexual partner and show an abnormal pap within 18 months?  Is it possible that a seroconversion occurred at the facility when an aerosal was formed outside a hood?  Can I have contracted the virus from non-sex contact (literature is somewhat disjointed) such as laser hair removal, biking or gym equipment?  I am seeking facts and probabilities (sex partner, non-sex partners, other).  Basic question - is high risk HPV types caused only by sexual transmission?

Thank you.
