Valmeira, please talk to your folks and try and encourage them to take the cat to the vet. I know you wouldn't want him to suffer. I understand that you probably live on a farm or ranch, right? I know that a lot of people who do rarely take their pets to the vets. The pets are thought more of what they can do, like being a good mouser or watch dog or hunting dog, etc. I know it can be hard to change that kind of mindset. I have a friend who grew up like that so when she got 3 cats she didn't get them fixed or shots or anything. She had to get rid of the two males because they kept fighting over the female (I know, duh, right?), then the one cat got sick. I really liked my friend but it did upset me. She was a good person but just didn't think about things like that. I helped her get the vaccinations for the remaining pets and got the cat fixed finally.
Anyway, I know vet bills can get costly but they also keep your pets healthy, happy and hopefully around for a long time.
I hope your kitty will get better. I know you care. I know that's why you came on here. Keep in touch with us and let us know how he's doing, ok? I hope your parents will do the right thing. God bless.
The cats with which my wife and I have shared our home have been pets, not working animals, but I understand that "farm cats" are looked upon differently.
You be well and may your kitten grow to healthy cathood.
