No heartbeat

by cesenatanya, Jul 22, 2008 03:53AM
My last menstrual period was April 11, 08
The first time i seen my doctor was June 16, 08 she said i was 5 weeks pregnant.  July 14, 08 i seen her again and she said the baby didnt have a heartbeat, she said i had a urinary tract infection. She send me for a second opinion, and the results were the same. The baby is still inside me, and im not bleeding or spotting. My breast still hurt, im still creaving food, and i still have nausea. I was drinking teas i wasnt supposed to, so he can come out it self because i dont want a D&C to be done, but it didnt work out. My question is can my OB be wrong? and are there any possibilities that my baby is still alive??? How can i find out??? For how long can the baby be inside me dead??? and what are the risks???

I am so sorry you are also feeling so sad, Ask your Doctor how long it will take as the Baby was not too many weeks on, they should be able to tell you,it probably wont be long and should come out with like a period but heavier. If this doesnt happen go back and ask if it could still be alive and get more answres.

You would be about 14 weeks pregnant at this point... there should be a heartbeat at this point, but still possible it was missed at your last appointment.  If over a week ago the dr. told you there was no heart beat then they should have done an ultra sound and discussed options.  Find a new dr. if they didn't do that.  Or at the very least, go back.
