Pelvic pain

by rnfinley, Jul 22, 2008 08:36AM
I am 35 weeks pregnant and about four days ago I started feeling this pain right above my pubic bone and awful, pretty much constant, back pain. I am no dr but I assume it is the baby's head pushing down. I also saw my chiropractor yesterday and he did what he could but still not much relief. He told me he could feel from my lower back that my bones were starting to seperate. Is this a sign I could go into labor soon? Anyone else experienced this??

that's exactly what it is...  its your pelvic bone separating to make room for the baby's head.  unfortunately you won't get much relief from it until after your delivery.  i got that pain w/ all 3 of my girls...  but surprisingly enough not w/ my ds i just had almost 6 weeks ago!  i know it hurts...  but it will cease after your baby is born!  good luck!!!

How long did you have this before you delivered? This is my second baby and I never experienced this w/ my first but she was in a funny position. I guess this is a good sign even if it is uncomfortable!

I had it for almost 6 weeks!!  Once I delivered it was gone almost immediately.  I had a small pain in one hip for a week or two after I delivered.

i know it was in my 3rd trimester when i got it...  maybe a little sooner in gestation than you are.  i remember w/ my first pregnancy the 1st time i felt that pain...  i will never forget it!  dh and i were in walmart and i was all of a sudden keeled over in pain.  i had to use a motorized cart to get through the rest of the store, lol.  and you know i never got an explanation of what that was until my 3rd pregnancy?!?!  yes, its a good sign although a painful one!  its letting you know your body's making way for baby!!!  :)
