I just got a call from my doctor's office saying I have an inconclusive HSV 2 test result and should go backBack pain - low Back strain treatment to the office in three months for a re-test. What does this mean? She said my number was .97 which is neither a negative nor a positive. My last year's test result was less than .9 which she said is a definite negative.
What steps / measures should I take now? Is it too soon for me to call my ex to let him know?
Thanks.

Are you having symptoms of anything? I'm not sure why you are testing.
I wouldn't let your ex know anything right now - you don't even know if you have it. Most inconclusive results end up being negative.

Test again in a month or so.

If you get another bump or sore, get it cultured within 24-48 hours of it appearing, and go from there.
If your partner had oral hsv1, and you got genital herpes from that, you would have genital hsv1, not 2. The type doesn't change. If you are worried about hsv2 from being with him, don't, unless he has hsv2.
