Adderall+cardio- whats a healthy heart rate???

by Stephaniegaier, Jul 22, 2008 01:05PM
I TAKE 15MG OF ADDERALL EVERY DAY FOR ADD -I HAVE BEEN TAKING ADDERALL FOR 3 YEARS NOW. I AM A 22 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND AS FAR AS I KNOW I AM HEALTHY. I RECENTLY STARTED WORKING WITH A PERSONAL TRAINER- SHE TELLS ME FOR MY AGE AND WEIGHT THAT I SHOULD KEEP MY HEART RATE BETWEEN 130-140BMP FOR 45-60 MINS A DAY TO BURN FAT.

PROBLEM/QUESTION: I THINK BECAUSE OF THE ADDERALL MY HEART RATE IS WAY TOO HIGH AND I FEEL LIKE I HARDLY HAVE TO MOVE IN ORDER TO GET MY HEARTRATE IN THE 130S- IF I WALKED OR BIKED TO THE SPEED AND INTENSITY WHERE I FEEL ID GET RESULTS MY HEARTRATE WOULD GO INTO THE 180S- EASILY!!!!!
HOW DOES ADDERALL EFFECT YOUR HEARTRATE WHILE DOING CARDO EXCERSIZE? SHOULD I CONTINUE WALKING SLOWLY TO GET TO MY 'TARGET' HEARTRATE OR CAN I MAKE MY TARGET HEARTRATE FASTER SO I CAN GET A SWEAT WHEN I WORK OUT???

Adderal is a stimulant, and a serious one.  I would be very careful, and work more closely with your doctor about what heart rate is the safe heart rate for you...I would also have you think re taking a lower dose if your heart rate at rest is already that high.

MY DR. TOLD ME THAT THE ADDERALL SHOULD BE CALMING ME DOWN AND MAKING ME FOCUS (IT DOES MAKE ME FOCUS) AND NOT SPEEDING ME UP... SHES NOT MUCH HELP- MY MONTHLY APPOINTMENTS ARE JUST 3 MINS OF HER WRITING OUT ANOTHER SCRIPT.. HMMM
