Mumps immunisation

Does anyone know when when they originally bought in the mumps immunisation? The reason i want to know is my husband had mumps when he was a teenager and they believe this is why his sperm is so bad. I asked his mother if he had been immunised and she said no they didnt have it back then he is 27? Any ideas

I am 27 (28 in August) and I got it when I started school and then again in like 5th grade.
