August moms and everyone else-birth experience

by hopes777, Jul 22, 2008 02:11PM
Went to the doc today @ 36w1d and the doc said that I'm 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced and he can feel the baby's head.  Any ideas how to speed up the birth of my baby (i don't want any drink or eat any wierd things)? How long til you have your little angel?

There is no way to speed it up and if it were i dont htink thats a good idea you've made it this far it will happen soon..im 37 weeks and i know how you feel but when the baby is ready it will happen

Walk, walk, walk!  But you technically are still not full term...even tho you are 36 weeks you risk your baby have pulmonary immaturity.  Start walking now and let gravity and nature do their things.  I'm 38 weeks and SOOO ready to have this kid....but it's up to HIM when he gets here.  I'm due aug 5th.

Yes! I do realize that I have 4 weeks to go, I just wanted other mom to be experiences and ways to start doing to maybe help speed up this pregnancy.  I know she will come when she is ready!

Thank you for responding and good luck to sameerab and losingmymindinga!
