pls help

My husband is 66 years old.It's been a week now that he is suffering from low back pain.But the pains comes only when he is sitting down for a while and by the time he move or stand up and it go away few nimutes after.It started when he work and  use a lot of energy and lifting heavy.I notice that in his left low back  where the pain is swelling a little bit.I keep on giving him a massage and he take tylenol but still it doesnt go away.Can anyone help.
