HPV

I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years, We are engaged and have been living together the last 4 years. He has had warts removed when he was a teenager from him bum and a few on his hands.About 3 years ago he had one removed from his throat. That was precancerous. Yesterday he went to the doctors for a growth in the throat and found out it was a wart the doctor also called it Papillomavirus and said it had to be removed and wouldn't return. He didn't give any other info about it, So I am asking is this a STD? Could I get it from him? Does this mean he cheated on me???? Or is this related to the warts he had when he was a kid? Please help i am so worried and stressed.

oral warts in the throat are rare but can be common among gay men who give/receive oral sex.this fact is documented by Drs.Hook and Handsfield in the Experts Forum in the archives.Warts on the butt and warts on the hands r different strains of the papilloma virus. On the butt r sexually transmitted...hands are common virus.there are over 100 strains of papilloma virus....30+ cause std's.Genital warts generally clear in 6-8 months depending on the strength of the immune sytem.....i'd give it 18 mos. to be safe.A few ppl here have disagreed with the doctors view regarding them. They think wart viruses can lie dormant and just re-emerge after years..the doctors have stated that once they leave  clear and gone and one gets another case..it is due to being re-xposed to another strain of low risk hpv.

also forgot to add that women who perform a lot of oral sex with multiple partners can get oral throat warts....and probably have weak immune systems.

My experience is warts returning after being gone only a few weeks.  This has been an experience for over a year.  So, yeah, they lie dormant and then return at some point.  The doctor told us the virus is forever.
