Prometrim anyone?

Ladies, is anyone on Prometrium. I used to take it 3 times a day, but last week it was reduced to once a week. My doctor told me to continue taking it once a day till week 12. But I am so paranoid to stop taking it and so afraid of miscarriage. Just wonder, if anyone else is taking it? And till how many weeks?

I think, and I stress think, that prometrium is used until the placenta takes over. Ok, now I can't remember what works in place of the placenta up until then. But I do know that the Prometrium is a progesterone supplement and whatever it is that produces progesterone (which is necessary in th emonthly cycle as well as during pregnancy) only does it until a certain point in pregnancy and then the placenta takes over. I too took Prometrium but it was right before I got pregnant because I wasn't ovulating. I would go to babycenter.com and they give you a breakdown of what happens with your body each week and it may say in there. I know I'm on the right track but I just can't remember all the facts - LOL. I would talk with your doctor though and have them explain it better. Try posting this in the Pregnancy 21-34 forum they might have more answers.
