MRSA

Hi I recently found out my mother has MRSA, she caught it a few years back in hospital but only found out Christmas 2007. She has reassured me she will be ok but I feel like she is hiding something to protect me, I would rather know the truth

She said there are different forms of MRSA and hers is ok, she said she has only got the bug of it. I don’t understand.

Can MRSA shorten people’s lives? She also told me that the doctors have took her off her medication which I don’t believe, I thought you always had to take the medication?

This is really a question for an infectious disease specialist, who I would always call in for  expert advise in patients with MRSA.
