Get your thryouid checked and be sure your TSH is between .3-3.0 Hypo thyroid can cause pain and bi polar like symptoms.
Let me know what you find out.

Thank you for responding.  My new doctor suggested Bi-Polar due to the fact that all neurological tests came back negative.  I have MS like symptoms and white matter lesions on my brain but, lumbar puncture was negative.  It seems to me that she just pulled the Bi-Polar dx out of thin air!!!  I have no history of this disorder and no one in my family has it either.  She said that it could be Peri-Menopausal onset of Bi-Polar.  I have never heard of this.  She wants me to make an appointment with a mental health specialist.  I will do so, but, I have my doubts as I don't seem to have any symptoms.  Wish me luck!    StinkyPinky

Hi, they were looking at me for MS awhile back but it turned out to be fibromyalgia. I had the white matter on my brain....they were calcium deposits!!! Now I just happen to be bipolar after all....onset of 17 and i have congenital hypothyroidism.....so check it all out!!!!!

Pain is not a symptom used to diagnose bipolar.  I agree with bipolarbear to get everything check out.

To: Hey everyone
Thank you all for your input.  I saw my pcp on Monday and he disagrees with the doc I saw on an urgent care basis.  Whew!  He said that there is something physiological going on.  I do still plan to see a mental health care provider as I have had clinical depression and GAD in the past.  Can't hurt right?  I am in other forums and I have to say that the folks in this one are the friendliest and most compassionate.    God Bless
