Oppinions on Chicco Car Seats

by Lexima, Jul 23, 2008 11:47AM
Last week we went to baby r us to look at carseats for the first time.  Out of all of them, Chicco the best.  It looks very confortable and I like the material.  It also seems smaller than other ones.  Does anyone any oppinions on them good or bad?

we have it (the orange-ish one) and I like it just fine. My only complaint about the material is that it seems to get a tad more hot than plain cotton, which causes my little guy to get hot...but I've not tried him in other seats either so for all I know they could all be the same. The other thing I don't like about the seat is that the canopy cover thingy doesn't come down very far so it's pretty ineffective blocking sun and I have to end up using a blanket. I've seen others that come down further. But seat for seat it's fine.

Thanks for your response.
I just got a stroller with bassinettes, so my primary use for the car seat will be to use it in the car, I won't be able to attach them to a stroller.  And since they will be winter babies hopefully the material will not be a problem.  I was even thinking of getting thos sheep skin looking liners for the winter.

I have it also.. the care seat is pretty good.. I agree with cpatow about the canopy.. I've seen others that go way down.. I live in OK so it is really sunny and hot...

I bought the whole travel system which I'm not crazy about the stroller.. way too big and bulky but you said you were getting that part so it won't matter...

The seat is nice.. make sure you get the base/key, so it will be easy to move in and out of the car... it probably comes with it, but just incase, I'd check..

good luck to you..

My sister has one and her main complaint is that it will not sit "on top" of any store cart, the baby has to go in the large bottom part....which makes it really difficult to grocery shop.  She also has the same complaint about the sun shade as the others had,

Thank you all for your advise.
I think the cons that I'm hearing are not too bad, so we'll probably go with it.  Now have to decide whether blue or brown.  I'm leaving towards brown.  I've noticed that the blue one has a very light grey center and once you remove the newborn incert, that light color is out in the open and might get dirty quickly.
