endometriosis???

by pvtreynolds, Jul 23, 2008 03:09PM
well here's my situation well my wife's... she recently has found out she has endometriosis... she is 24 25 in september. i am currently deployed in iraq so not a whole lot of help form my end available... she just had a laprascopy procedure...the dr. wants to talk to her about her options on the 29th...about her options. she is on base at ft. polk,la so im assuming the dr. isn't a specialists in this area, but has given her two options that either she rides it out and takes pain pills or hysterectimy.

but well we were under the assumption that on the 21st the dr. was supposed to do a scraping not laprascopy... ,but besides the point im wondering which would be the best route... she's very petite 90 91 lbs right now she mentioned the dr. had said her bone denseity wasn't great enough for a procedure not sure which one...

but she's having lots of trouble deciding which route to go now i've done reading online i haven't had lots of time ,but i understand there are diets, hormone shots, or something along those lines to help cope, but she also doesn't want to do the hysterectimy because she doesn't know if i'll want to have another child or not and doesn't want to hurt me or lose me but i just want what's best for her and her health i could care less for another child we have a six year old together so im fine with that... but im wondering would taking pain pills riding it out greaten her chance of being infertile, incase she wants to see what happens with pregnancy. or if the hysterectimy is the best route to go? but i also read that the endometriosis may redevelope and isn't a certain thing. and im wondering if a. they do the hysterectimy would they do the scraping also? she's under the impression that they wouldn't but that doesn't make since to me also because that would leave the *endometriosis* or w/e still in her... but her idk... female goods would be gone??? so that doesn't make much since to me? so if she has the hysterectimy would she still be in great deals of pain or how would that help compared to just pain killers because that leaves her all "droggy" out of it and i want her to be able to function as normaly as possible and im afriad she may get "hooked on pain pills" and pull a rush limbaugh so to speak. and what pills are generaly used to treat the pain. they have her on percaset now and she says she's just feels out of it. im wandering what all procedures or alternative options we have. and what would be best to live as normal a life as possible.
