Could lump/bump at urinary opening be a symptom of Clamydia?

by Bob1212, Jul 23, 2008 03:55PM
I went a little insane in Feb. from non-stop stress and non-stop snow all winter, so one day I just drove towards a warmer climate and finally camped in the boonies near Las Vegas and tried to destress and fix my head. For 2-3 weeks I kept in touch with my wife and she finally understood and told me to get better and come home, so that is what I did.  I know a couple of times I went to the city and got very drunk to try and forget all the dumb things I have done and I am a lightweight so I haven't a clue what happened after I got blasted, BOTH times. I woke up in a park a mile away from where I thought I should be once and didn't remember anything. Stupid me, I know.
Fast FW to now. I have been home since about late March now and it is 4 months later. My wife asked me to look at what she described as an irritating thing along with a bump/small lump at her urinary opening and I didn't have a clue so she went to a Dr. today (actually a Nurse Practitioner, but a good one) and after an exam was told to see a specialist because it is likely a cyst..BUT she also said there might be some other possible things it could be, however the Jr. Dr. said "she wouldn't go there".  When my wife told me that, I started getting worried. I have had genital herpes for the whole 13 years we have been together and I told her within 2 days of meeting her. I have always been careful and she hasn't got it because I HAVE been VERY careful.
Now who knows what I brought home.  I understand that I might not show any symptoms for the only thing I have come up with for her symptoms, which is clamydia, but no mention of any lumps or bumps that I could find. So could clamydia cause a bump or a cyst?
If I gave her something, it would likely end our marrriage, and I am just getting back to liking our relationship again now that I have a stress-free job and life.  THIS is stressing me bigtime and I just don't handle it well ....
Any help or advice is appreciated.

No, that's not a sign of chlamydia.

Have you been tested for stds?  It might help ease your mind about all this.

No I haven't, at least not for a very long time. I guess the next question would be...Should I tell her about my 2 alcohol blackout episodes or wait for results of specialist exam? It could totally change our relationship for the worst even if it isn't an STD. But if she does have something I caused, fessing up now for the possibility could soften the blow later a bit I suppose and possibly help with us staying together.

I think you should get tested first.

You aren't even really sure what happened, so testing is the only thing I would do now.
