contact problems

by titaniadiosa, Jul 23, 2008 05:05PM
I have worn contacts for four years now and rarely had any problems. I have not changed my contact brand or anything. This summer though I have had problems with the contact in my right eye. Every time I try to wear my contacts, the one in my right eye burns and irritates my eye. I have tried cleaning my lenses and even replaced them with a new pair. I have had to wear my classes almost all summer because I can't put up with the contacts. What might be causing this sudden discomfort?

Well, where should we start.  Here are some possibilities:  dry eyes, allergies, poorly fitting contact lens, giant papillary conjuctivitis, eyelid margin disease, allergy to solution, contact lens overwear, environmental irritants and more.  See an EyeMD ophthalmologist in person to try to find out what is going on.
