Why does food sometimes not digest & stay in the stomach, causing nausea & vomitting?

There could be a number of reasons for that, but the one that immediately comes to mind is gastroparesis (mostly because I'm being tested for that in a few weeks), where the stomach doesn't pump food properly. That's not to say it's the only condition, but those are definitely symptoms associated with it. It's HIGHLY recommended you get yourself checked by a gastroenterologist on this one.
