Help

by lnv07, Jul 23, 2008 05:41PM
I am 15 and just got my gallbladder out in December.  I have very bad bloating after everything I eat which makes me nauseas.  This is very uncomfortable and comes with sharp pains in my lower stomach along with my upper rib area.  I have gotten a lot of tests and have seen every type of doctor there is.  One doctor diagnosed me with chronic fatigue and my gastro doctor said my stomach emptied too slow and gave me a medicine to help with bowel movements.  This is better, but the bloating just isn't getting better.  Any help?

Have you tried eating very low fat - does that help? Many people find it can take quite a bit of time for their body to adjust to digesting fats after the surgery.

If you're having paiin in the same area as where you did when you still had your gallbladder, did you tell your doc about it? Did they check your liver and pancreatic enzyme levels?

You might talk to your doc about trying some probiotics to see if they might help with the bloating. Some decent brands are Digestive Advantage-IBS, Culturelle, and FloraQ.
