You are very much welcome. I cannot seem to think of any mechanism by which mitral valve prolapse can lead to these MRI findings. There is however one condition where a severe form of MVP or frank valvular failure can lead to some lesions in the brain, and this is called infectious endocarditis. This condition is characterized by thrombosis and infection affecting valves that are problematic in the first place (such as mitral valve regurgitation, not so much associated with pure prolapse). The thrombotic elements together with some bacteria can be propelled through the blood stream and lodge in some parts of the brain.
However, this condition is toxic, and patients are usually highly febrile, bed-ridden, and really feels sick, and I don't believe this is compatible with your situation.
The 5mm cyst is also unlikely to cause these symptoms not just because of it's small size but also from its location in the sinuses (outside of the brain itself).
Regards.
