When will it ever end

by frustrated43, Jul 23, 2008 07:26PM
I've recently been diagnosed with Meniere's Disease and can not believe how bad it effects one's life.  I'm only 43 yrs old but I guess this isn't age discriminatory.  I've been out of work for six weeks and feel as though I'm a burden to those I care for the most.  In the midst of all this; I had a minor stroke which I'm still not certain any of this is related to each other.  In short, I have become somewhat depressed and have no energy about me.  I am typically a high energy woman who is constantly on the go and always giving a helping hand to others.  I've not been able to be that person and feel I'm shutting down.  My doctors have been awesome with their bed side manner and have truly been doing all they can to help me improve.  I've done the steriods by mouth, I've received the ear injections and take daily medications.  I've stopped smoking and stopped the caffiene and trying to reduce my stress, although this causes so much stress .. hmmm!  Mine is constant with no relief and has been going on for approsimately 2 months now.  One day I woke up and boom, it was there with no warning and no prior health issue.  I don't know what the next step is or what they can do to help me.  All I do know is that I need to find a way to accept and deal with this and not let it control me any longer.  I want my life back, I want my energy back and I want my bubbly, peppy attitude that I love and other people enjoy so much.  I'm scared I'm losing sight of who I am .. is this normal, does anyone relate to what I am saying?   I know there is hope, I guess I'm just seeking some encouragement from someone who gets it.  Thanks for reading through my pitty pot.

Acupuncture can help the symptoms of Meniere's Disease - and if you are still suffering any effets from your minor stroke, it can assist with normalising muscle tone, reducing pain and helping you feel more in control and less stressed. Look for the qualification LicAc. in your neighbourhood, and carry on doing the things you can do to help yourself, a lot of diet stuff etc takes 4 to 9 weeks to really 'kick-in'.
