i take zoloft for severe anxiety/ocd and ran out today. my doc never called in a refill. is it ok not to take it one night. i am such a freak about medicine i hate it and get scared of what all i have read on these darn sites. i know it affects everyone diff. but still scares the **** out of me. i did talk to my doc today and told him that i didn't know if the zoloft was working like it should i have been on it since april and still have unwanted thoughts i can just ignore them better and not get that crazy scary anxiety rush that feels like heat wave up my arms and rest of body. i am on 75 mg now and can know go home without being scared i am going to lose it and hurt someone. this all happened after a a surgery in feb. i know it sounds goofy but true.so i guess what i am getting at is letting you know why i was on it and if it is ok to miss it for one night.

One night shouldnt be too bad man. Actually, you probably won't have any side effects at all.

2 or 3 nights maybe some.

Are you getting your prescription tomorrow? If so, you'll be fine. =)

I'm sure 1 night is ferfectly fine. I understand your runaway thoughts. About a year after my 28 yo son was killed, I would imangine him standing in front of me, he looked beautiful, then his skin would start to rott, then a skelaten, then the skelaten would make a face of pain and then it would run away and dissapear. Not to pleasant! It's been about 3 years now and It does'nt happen anymore. Trauma can do all sorts of scary things to us. It was suggested to me, to " tell the devil to go away".  To me this meant that the frightning thoughts were just meaningless, they did not really exist and only hurt me and no one else, the more I let it hurt me the more it would happen. Trying to think rational and even deep breating really helped me.
Hope this helps and good luck.

You'll be perfectly fine missing one dose.  Just be sure to call your doc to remind him tomorrow!

opps, sorry got the name wrong, a little new at this. by the way, please don't go down the "benzo" road, Xanax in particular. they are very addictive in a short amount of time. they cause rebound anxiety and i my opinion are only good if used on a temporary basis.

sorry to hear about your son. those are the kind of scary thoughts i would have but only scared of hurting my kids and crazy stuff like that. i was soooo terrible it has been getting better thanks to zoloft. i was having major issues having to take it and just came to realize i needed it to help me for a while. now that i am out i am scared but know it will be ok. they did give me xanxex and i only took it for like a week or two i didn't like how it made me feel after it wore off. like a mean irratable feeling.
