Boy of Girl Ultrasound?

by thik, Jul 23, 2008 08:58PM
So I had an ultrasound done at exactly 14 weeks and the tech. said that she was not going to guess the sex of the baby because she thought it was too soon. From one position I saw 3 or 4 lines. In another position, I saw what looked like a turtle. I asked her if the lines meant a girl and she said no. So now Im confused. Has anyone had similar results and if so, what was the outcome?

14 weeks is too early to tell unless you are on a really good ultrasound machine and even then, there's room for error as sometimes little guys are just hiding still so it looks like a girl.  Usually 19-20 weeks is MUCH more accurate in determining the sex.

When you are trying to tell the gender you see all sorts of odd things.  At one point I was looking at the heart for lines.
