head trembles and loss of breath in sleep

My boyfriend has a graveyard shift job and he attends school. He is very moody daily and in his sleep his head often vibrates/ trembles excessively and he gasps for air at times. He said this has been goig on for a while now and it frightens both of us at times. Could someone tell us what the problem may be.

I had the exact same issue. Yet head vibrations/tingling could be a variety of different things. Could be anything from anxiety (what it probably is) caused by the odd hours, lack of sleep, and it would also explain the mood swings; dysautonomia (a dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system); something more neurological in origin; lyme disease; reaction to a medication, etc.

Is he on any meds right now? How recent is this graveyard shift job? Is he frequently stressed, anxious, and nervous? Some more info. may help you. But the best advice I can give is go and see his Primary care, and see where they can refer him based on his symptomology.
