food for thought---if you're sexually active, or thinking of becoming active(non preg related)

by jesslee83, Jul 24, 2008 12:13AM
if you are sexually active, please keep in mind the following things:
1)birth control does NOT protect against ANY kind of std's that i know of....also, aside from preventing pregnancy, b/c has worked wonders when it comes to acne, menstrual reduction(the pills that lessen the amt of periods you have annually)...and some have been shown to reduce some types of cancer(idk offhand the name of the one i'm thinking of, but it does)...
2)condoms or some type of spermicide(that does not work against bc), should always be used(see above)...
3)condoms and abstinence(where possible), as well as monogamous relationships are the only ways to prevent std's(however, even monogamous couples have shown std's)
4)we welcome here on MH anyone needing advice.....the only stupid questions are the 1's that aren't asked(when it pertains to "true" issues)
5)if you're not ready to be a parent, please please, re-read the above.....
6)only a pregnancy test or dr can confirm pregnancy, aside from birth! ;)

i hope i do not offend anyone with this posting....it's just these are replies we give to everyone, and i just compiled the basics into a topic.....
