Open Wound

My kitten was in the fan of my car when I turned it on today. Fortunately, I turned it right off when I heard the clunk!  However, the cat has a few wounds that I am needing to see if there is anything I can do to heal her at home.  Amazingly, it has only a couple of wounds.  The main one I am concerned with is the fan blade hit her tail and peeled off the meat and skin on the bottom of the tail near its bottom for about 1 inch.  I have her inside the house in a kennel with blankets to keep her out of the elements.  Is there medicine I can give her to help with the pain?  Is there anything I can do at home for her tail or is vet care required?  I am on a very limited income :(  Please let me know I really want to help her feel better and heal quicker.  Thank you.

I hate to say it but if the tail tip was flayed it will likely have to be amputated (not the whole tail! just the tip. I have a cat like that, we called him "stumpy" which over time became Whump") :).

If it starts to infect, you'll have to get kitty antibiotics. You can pick up an over the counter anti fungal spray from the pet store to try to prevent infection, but if the wounds are serious, it may not be enough.
