How Long for Low Iodine Diet before RAI

How long should you be on the Low Iodine Diet before RAI? I have been told anything from 2 weeks to 6 weeks and then they moved up my scan dates so I don't know if it has been long enough. I do not want to repeat weeks of hypothyroid in order to wait for a good scan, compounded by a contrast CT done within 3 weeks of my scan date by the same facility doing my RAI, they said it would be fine -- after reading through some postings I am not sure? Anyone have info from their own experiences?
New to all of this and it is all happening very quickly and just found this forum today to try to hopefully find some answers...

Call your doctor, the one who ordered the test, just to make sure.

I did it for 14 days and I had a good scan.
