Complex Cyst, Adenomyosis and Uterine Polyps

by Bregirl, Jul 24, 2008 06:33AM
I am 35 years old I have one child and had complications when I had her.  Two years ago I had a cyst removed off my right ovary and all my symptoms went away, They also told me I had PCOS.  They came back but worse I finally went to the OBGYN and she sent me to have a US a couple of months ago and they found a cyst on my Left and set me up to have another US in two months, I had the US last Friday and the Dr called Monday and said that the US results came back and the Cyst has grown and it is complex and that I also had Adenomyosis and Uterine Polyps and she had me to have a CA125 and two other blood test and she wants me to come in next week to descuss the next steps to take.  What treatments do they normally do for someone who has multipual things going on like this?

My symptoms are alot of pain (abdomen, pelves, back, legs, ect), abnormal periods (missed periods, spotting, periods 2 or 3 times a month, periods that are 1 or 2 days to 3 to 9 days-never know), tired, feel sick, blotting (alot), ect.

A little history when I was 20 my OBGYN told me that I had unlevel sheding of the uterus (my Dr had never heard of  that), could that have something to do with the Adenomyosis and Uterine Polyps?  I have two Aunts that had to have a hystorctimy (SP??) one in her 30's and the other in her 50's due to Uterus Cancer, should I be worried with what is going on with me?

Any help or information would be wonderful.

Thanks

I went back to the dr yesterday and she is very concern with everything that is going on she has reviewed my case with a cancer dr and now she is scheduling me for a uterus byopsy, and start me on some meds right after the byopsy to try to get my cycle reg, then she is going to do another US to see what is going on with the cyst, since it is more complex than 2 months ago, but since I had a cyst removed 2 yrs ago and it was ok she is going to start with the byopsy.  She said my case really concerns her.  How worried should I be?  I am trying to keep the thoughts that it can't be anything two serious and if it is since I have been to the drs alot in the last 3 yrs it would be only cells or beginning stages or it would have been caught before now (or could my previous dr missed it? I wasn't to happy with him that is why I switched drs, he kept telling me cyst didn't cause pain it had to be something else and kept sending me to other drs (kidney, gastrolygist(sp??) and ect.).

The dr also said with having PCOS I need to lose some wait and that she was going go give me something to help and was suprised that no dr had give that to me before.  I can't remember the name of it.  Does anyone know what they give you to help you lose weight with PCOS?

I've heard Metformin (Glucophage) helps with weight loss for PCOS. I will be praying for you and keep your faith up. =)

Update - I had my Hysteroscopy/D&C/Polypectomy yesterday.  The doctor told my husband that she seen alot of slush and removed it and seen shadows, not sure what that means? She did tell him that nothing looked like cancer but she did biopsy, that is good news.  I go back in two weeks to find out what is going on and to get scheduled for another US for the cyst on my ovary.
