Possible Herpes?

by cbscoob, Jul 24, 2008 07:57AM
As per perusing these forums, I've found that the most sound and repeated advice is to see a health care professional and get tested. However, I would just like to get some general opinions to perhaps squash (or possibly aggravate) my concerns. I have been dating a girl for nearly 10 months now, and we occasionally have unprotected sex. We've both been recently (a few months ago) tested for STDs, and everything came back negative. However, last weekend, after spending the weekend with her, I noticed, the next day, a massive outbreak of waxy, red bumps on my scrotum -- they were nearly everywhere. I should mention, that weekend, she had also given me oral sex, including putting her mouth on my scrotum. The waxy, red bumps lasted for a day, maybe two, before disappearing completely, save for a few. However, while those bumps were disappearing, new bumps were forming on my penis. These were different, much smaller, much lighter, and a little dry to the touch. Another day or so passed, and this "rash" went from an isolated area on my shaft to covering a majority of it. There are no bumps on the head, just the shaft, nearly all over. The bumps are now nearly completely gone from my scrotum, save for a few. The thing that really worries me (as, if it were just the penis rash, it could be written off as irritation, jock itch, et cetera - though I would certainly still get tested) is that, of the remaining scrotum bumps, they are painful, open sores. Not incredibly so, but, if touched, they sting a bit. They don't emit any fluid, but they look rather shiny. Well, that's everything. I'm going to get tested as soon as possible, but does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

hsv usually does not appear on the scrotum-- also symptoms last a few weeks, not days. the stages between each stage is separated by a few days, as well.

you might just be looking harder than usual at yourself-- the open sores part is the only thing i am concerned about.

You wouldn't get symptoms the day following sexual contact. Also, herpes isn't going to cover your entire peen - it's going to show up in an isolated spot.

I agree with the above poster - you're trying too hard.
