All you need to do is find the next Al-Anon meeting and go.  The people there will help you determine the best way to help your friend.  He's lucky to have you, but please remember that you cannot control or cure his alcohol addiction, only he can do that. I would suggest you support him by agreeing to help him get to an AA meeting, or to a detox facility, but that you will not help him kill himself.  Don't even try to talk to him when he is drunk or is likely to have been drinking; he won't remember a thing you say or that HE says.  Good luck and be sure to take care of yourself too.

Hello Nada188 - can you ans. some questions - most importantly, make sure he's not in suicidal mode, you will notice /tell as a friend -  Anyway, try to talk to him and be his / her friend. Since he doesn't want to take any advice at this point and time, tell him how it's affecting your relationship with you.  Sometimes sharing your thoughts/feelings w/ him will sink in on his end.  Anyway, good look!
