Hi All..Just wanted to thank you all for the support through this taper of oxy I am doing..YOU ALL have been so wonderful to me I just cannot believe it.  I had a lumbar puncture done today and the results is Intercranial pressure in my brain..a healthy person reads 10 or lower apparently and I am at 27.  Worse case is if they cannot get this under control with meds then they will put a shunt in and that will solve the prob I am advised by the neurologist. Might explain the headaches ect I have suffered all this time.  My optical nerve is swollen from the pressure and we are waiting for the eye surgeon appt to see if that is permanent or not.  BUT the good news is even with all this I am still managing to stay at my tapered dose of 40mg a day..gonna let this settle abit as this procedure has caused some pain in the back and head but in a couple days I will cut some more.  I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate all your help and if you dont see me as much on the site the next couple days that this all is the reason..not that I fell off my goals of tapering..lol
Its rough as when I got this bad news that of course was the first thought is boy I'd like to pop some pills but I didnt.  That is not going to make all this go away so there is no point...I will keep hanging in there in the meantime.
Lots of Love to all of you that are so strong and are helping all of us who are just starting this journey..I dont think I could of survived it without you all..actually I know I couldnt of...
Touch base with you all once I am little better and healed from this procedure..Just wanted to let you all know incase you pm me and I dont get back to you right away as I have heard from alot of you wonderful people in my inbox..
Hugs to you all...your the absolute best there is in the world..

Geez, it sounds like you got a lot going on !!!  I am very happy for you in that you didn't mess up your taper.  If you are in legit pain though, i definitely agree that you should take your meds..that's what they are REALLY there for..lol.  Anyways, i hope you feel better and keep your chin up, it all works out in the end :)

P.S.  I will be sure to say a special prayer for neverb4addicted

do your doctors know that you are tappering? because you are directly affecting your brain with your tapper. and i would have to think that the slower the better as to not shock it real bad.
it is great that they have figured out the problem and that there is something they can do for it!

Yes the doc knows about the taper..thus is why I am stuck at the 40mg a day at the moment..he advised to stay there for a week and heal from this first and I had to stay at that dosage for a few days prior to the procedure to make sure I was levelled out..I am lucky as my wd's were completely gone by today so only have the procedure pain to deal with..Guess my body finally adjusted to the lower dose..
Thanks for the comment..

I'm sorry to hear about the medical issue.  You are doing so great with your taper.  I'm so glad it is going OK.  I'll be thinking of you and sending prayers that they can manage the pressure and you can continue your taper.

hun, you're doing awsome!!

you know, so many of us have used "bad news" as an excuse to relapse (myself included, i was the BIGGEST offender!!) and you my dear - held the course!!

you really listened to your body, and realized no, you didn't have to do that.

and i say YAY YAY YAY for you!

that takes strength and courage and i am SO PROUD OF YOU!!!  I hope you are too...

anyhoo, it's late and I'm hittin the sack.  will PM manana... but i just had to tell you how wonderful you did today, in light of everything. just wonderful....

mj
