Right Quadrant pain after eating fatty foods

by blpetty2a, Jul 24, 2008 02:55PM
I have been having upper right quadrant pain after eating fatty foods.  I have had several tests done.  I have had a sonogram done to look at my gallbladder with negative blockage or stone results.  I have also had a HIDA scan done with a result of 35% emptying.

My primary care doctor reccomended me to a surgeon who was not willing to take the gallbladder out, saying that the scan did not seem abnormal to him.  He ordered an upper endoscopy which came up negative for ulcers but mild gastrisis.  My doctor prescribed me Prevacid.  I have beent aking this for about 5 days and have not seen any improvement.  As a matter of fact, this pain has gotten much worse after mid day meals if I eat fatty foods, eg.  a meaty sandwich.

Earlier today I had to leave work because the pain was so bad when I was standing and moving around.

What do you think I should do next?  Second opinion?  please help.

Boy does that sound familiar.  I have intestinal parasites, recently diagnosed.  My dr. has been following a "lesion" on my liver.  I have learned that some parasites send out larvae which shows up as "lesions" in a CT scan.  I don't know if anyone can get an accurate diagnosis re parasites, they always come back negative.  I think you just have to watch for this yourself.  Also, I started taking The Life Tree "Purify", and within days I saw the cause of my problems.  I don't know if this is true fo you, but I suggest you stay on this, do all the research you can find.  Family practitioners don't seem to know much about this.  I am going to see an infectious disease doctor and hope he can address my liver "problem"  Another med I take is milk thistle.  This is supposed to help clear your liver, and I think it does.  Between the 2 herbs  I am not having any pain in my liver any longer.  Actually, I started the thistle and Purify a month ago and then went to dr. when I saw evidence. Now I am taking albendazole as well as the thistle.  Good Luck!
