Have a weird feeling in my throat

I am usually hypothyroid, but at this time I am in a hyperthyroid state ( I dont konw if that matters or not) For the last week I have had this feeling in my throat about where my voice box is, as if some one has there hand on my neck. It is weird. I had three episodes as if I were being choked. I went to my MD two times. First they gave me an inhaler, this did nothing. Then I was given a medrol dose pack ( you take several pills a day, tapering down for like 5 days), that made me jittery, it helped for 3 days and now my symptoms returned. I have had and ultrasound and a Ct of my neck and I am anatomically ok. No problems with my esophagus. I am so frustrated, because I am not crazy and these people can not find out why I am feeling this way......Is there anyone who has any suggestions...I am sooo frustrated : (
