Well, I'm not sure what your background is, but if you have pretty regular cycles, the first step would be to try to pinpoint when you are ovulating.  Websites like babycenter.com have ovulation calculators that can help with this.  You could also try charting your temperatures (BBT) to see if it shows a temperature shift after ovulation or even using ovulation predictor kits (OPK) to even further pinpoint ovulation.  Depending on how long you've been trying and your age, you could start out by going to your regular OBGYN and they will do a preliminary fertility workup.  Bloodwork to check hormone levels, maybe an ultrasound, and also a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) where they inject dye and take X-rays to make sure your tubes are open and everything looks normal.  Your husband/partner could also have a semen analysis done.  Hope this helps, but if you have any specific questions let us know.  Good luck to you!
