liver lesions

by lmpockets, Jul 25, 2008 11:16AM
I have been having bouts of diarrhea and some incidents of vomiting.  I recently had a colonoscopy/endoscopy and an abdominal catscan.  The colonoscopy/endocscopy showed a hiatal hernia which the Dr prescribed Nexium.  The catscan showed 2 small lesions on my liver and slightly swollen lymph nodes in the groin area.  I then had an abdominal ultrasound as a follow up on the liver lesions.  The results of the US showed a slightly fatty liver with 2 hypoechoic lesions of indeterminate nature.  The lesions measured 1.4cm and 1.8cm.  The radiologist comment was that they are low density, probably simple cysts.  They are now recommending an MRI on the liver.  Can you please give me some indication of what this could be?

I have the same thing and was told that they are hemangiomas.  Google it or look it up here.  Hemangiomas are benign cycts and on the surface of the skin, they are sometimes called "strawberry marks".  I also have a fatty liver and was told that about 50% of Americans have them.  It is usually only found when they do CT or US for other things.  However, I don't want to minimize so I would follow through with the MRI.  Hope this helps.
