tooth caps

i am wearing a tooth cap for the past few years. I want to clean it. if the doc, advise me to change the cap, how manyd ays will it take? will they remove the cap and do i need to wait without the cap for a day or two? or will they put a temporary one on my teeth?

If there is no problem of a cap(crown), replecement of crown is not indicated. Sometimes a crown may serve decades of life.
