Potty Training Regression

by Melissa82, Jul 25, 2008 11:44AM
My son will be turning 5 in one month and had been potty trained for nearly a year, only with the occasional nighttime accident. In the past 3 or 4 months, he has slowly regressed to having accidents (pee) every night and probably about 4 or 5 times a week during the day when he is awake. He will act like he doesn't even know he is wet. I bring it up and he is apologetic instantly. I have always been really careful (since he was late learning in the first place) no to scold him when he would have these accidents. But since this is becoming more and more of an issue, I am wondering the cause for this behavior and how I should handle it and how to resolve the issue. He is nearly 5 and I am extremely concerned about this. He should be far past this- he was able to do it before. What can I do?
